Euphoria
I have wanted to capture an image of Mt. St. Helens since moving to Washington. As a child in Michigan, I remember walking home from the bus stop and seeing volcanic ash floating in the air like large snowflakes from the eruption. I had many failed attempts at photographing Mt. St. Helens because it was shrouded in clouds. As I headed home a ray of sunshine broke through the clouds and the Mountain started becoming visible. I sped back to the top and set up my camera in front of a patch of wildflowers I remembered from hiking in the rain earlier. I looked up and noticed the rainbow and couldn’t believe this magical moment! I danced down the trail back to my truck feeling blessed and totally euphoric after an incredible display of nature.
