Last Light

Seeing photographs of this amazing place inspired me to want to see and photograph it for myself. The hike out to the Point of the Arches is not difficult, but a little daunting by myself. I like to push myself out of my comfort zone and my angst and worry evaporated as I emerged from the forest onto the beach. I was greeted by an eagle soaring overhead and waves crashing on the beach. Tidepools brimming with sea life were a welcome distraction as I made my way to the Point of the Arches where this photo was taken. Despite the looming thought of hiking back to my vehicle in the dark; I waited and captured the last light.

I was prepared though, with two headlamps, extra food, and clothing and fortunately made it back safe and sound!
