Eastern Washington has an entirely different landscape than the rest of the state. Gorgeous rolling hills in south eastern WA that early settlers cultivated and is today a great producer of wheat and legumes.
The hills were formed over tens of thousands of years from wind blown dust and silt, called "loess," from dry regions to the south west. The hills look like giant sand dunes covered in lush waving green in the spring when the wheat and barley are young and it is my favorite time to photograph it.
