Contrails
This photo was taken in Death Valley National Park, CA amongst the Panamint Dunes. I marveled at the lines of the sand dunes as the sun was low in the sky and watched the planes buzz by which created the wispy, semi circular clouds overhead.
I photographed the dunes at sunset and as I started hiking back to my truck noticed the light disappeared very quickly! I found myself walking in pitch blackness as I searched for my truck. Fortunately, I came prepared with headlamp, extra food, and warm clothes, but despite that I couldn't find my truck! After much personal debate ) I ended up using the SOS feature on a Garmin device (no cell service) and much to my delight very nice rangers came to my rescue! I was embarrassed, but they were delightful and complimented me on being in the exact spot they had on their radar and being (somewhat) prepared! Live and learn... for sure.
