Girl's Best Friend

Doesn't this piece of ice look like a large diamond? Not most womens' idea of a large diamond, but this one captivated me! I spent a while getting drenched as the waves crashed around it to get a few images that the waves and ice caught the light. Iceland is dotted with black sand beaches and this particular one has the nickname "Diamond Beach." Large pieces of ice calve off the nearby Vatnajokull glacier into a glacial lagoon and float out to sea where they melt and sometimes float back to shore. The pieces of ice look like diamonds on top of the black sand beach and at sunset it is beautiful!
